oh, hey friday | a little bit of our week

1 | gone are the days...
I kind of miss the days when I got a "day off" and I could jet up to Boise to get a manicure, or get my hair done, or go shopping, OR really anything.
Instead I spend my day off working or cleaning, because those things don't get done very thoroughly with three wild boys.
In 18 years perhaps I will be sick of manicures and all the free time I have.

2 | bennett's birthday
Thank you all for the fantastic birthday party ideas for Bennett.
We are finalized on a "Where the Wild Things Are" party!
SO now, send me all of your good ideas regarding that.
I need all the help I can get around here... I am literally living where the wild things are.

3 | brody
My big 5 year old has turned into a working machine.
As I mentioned last week, he has been waking up to go with Ryan every morning to harvest sugar beets.
My farmer decided on Monday that Brody could be more helpful than just sitting in a tractor though.
SO, he has a new job.
He has been driving through the field picking up all of the spilled beets.
Mostly by himself, but sometimes Beckam joins him.
It is the most precious thing, and I can't believe what a workaholic he is!

4 | harvest
On one occasion, while Brody was out working hard, the rest of the family crammed into the tractor.
Bennett drove while Ryan and Beckam enjoyed some carrots.
It should also be noted that 10 month olds are not capable of holding still, or behaving at all really, after about 10 minutes in a tractor.

5 | come on...
And just because I can't get over how lucky I am to be these boys' mommy...

That's it.
Now, I am going to be spending my day in Boise getting my farmers shattered iPhone repaired.
Wish me luck.

  3. That's so totally adorable that Brody is such a hard worker. He's in the "flow" state -- total engagement with challenging activities and exercising his skills. Amazing that you can put a 5 year old to work like that.
