shared boys room inspiration

As we impatiently wait to find out the gender of baby #3 {one more week!}
I realized I should get some inspiration for shared room ideas together for the boys…
instead of any nursery planning/updates that need to be done.

What would I do without Pinterest?
I mean… what did we do without Pinterest?
If it was around when I was wedding planning, things would have gotten crazy.
Or how about my elementary ed major in college… that would have been so easy!
The subpar creative lesson plans I came up with weren't great.
Future teachers better be finishing college with summa cum laude.
All of them.

Totally off track.

Back to the boys' room.
THIS is what the room currently looks like.
And here are some ideas that I have come across to possibly change it:

What do you think?

Bunk beds are so expensive, I'm feeling like I {aka my farmer} need to get out the ol' hammer and nails and build something.
We will see how that goes though.

Either way, I'd like to get the boys put together in the same room in the next couple of months.
We need to get them adjusted before baby comes.

Do you have any great shared room ideas?
Send them my way!

  1. I really like the bunk beds how they are in the first and last picture where they are not parallel. It's different, cute and seems more spacious for each of them.

  2. We had to do the same when we had baby girl due to arrive...you can see pictures of my boys' shared room here: http://www.california-to-carolina.com/2013/11/boys-shared-room-reveal.html

  3. I love the bunk beds! We want to do bunk beds for our boys (even though boy #2 is still being baked) and we're thinking of just getting our older son bunk beds now. I absolutely love the gray one you shared! It makes that Ikea bunk seem so much more substantial!

  4. Bunk beds ARE SUPER expensive. BUT... my coworker showed me these the other day: http://www.target.com/p/brady-bunk-bed-espresso-twin-full/-/A-18848096#prodSlot=_1_9

Her neighbor has them for her teenage sons (they don't share, but they each have one in their rooms) and said they are super sturdy. Plus right now they are 10% off. I hope the sale lasts because I think I am going to get them, but we will be out of town so I don't really want any LARGE packages sitting on our doorstep.

I LOVE the sleep under the stars room.

  5. My son wants a bunk bed so bad too! I like the colors in the grey and yellow room.

  6. I love bunk beds! My favorite is the dark one with the navy blue and grey accents.
