{oh hey, friday | happenings + giveaway}

I bet you're all wondering if I'm going to make a habit out of JUST blogging on Friday.
The answer. No. Probably not.
But I can't make promises.
Let me fill you in on what's been taking up my time lately.

But first, link up!!

Go ahead and write up a post about five things, paste the html of the button below on your post, and link up at the bottom.

1. | mowing/dirt/baths
We are blessed to live on a farm.
And have plenty of land for the kids to play on.
We also have grass.
A lot of it!
Which means that it needs mowed.
By me… my farmer ain't got time for that.
I have been able to hammer out the lawns when Beckam is taking his nap.
Brody is a great helper and helps water my flowers.
Or he just plays in the dirt... equally as helpful since I can mow child free.
Speaking of dirt. We spent approximately 7 hours a day this week playing in and around a massive dirt pile.
{We are fixing a section of underground pipe for easier watering on my garden.}
Turns out, trenches are fun for little boys.
And so are mountains of dirt.
Not sure what they are going to do next week once the dirt is put back in the hole.
Probably not take nearly as many baths.

2. | food to farmer
We are frequently doing trips out to the tractor where my farmer has been busily planting sugar beets and corn.
If we don't go, he starves.
And we {mostly the boys} never see him.
We usually do a little kid trading too so each kid gets some one on one time with each of us.
Win. Win.

3. | fits
Why must children fight?
And throw fits?
And wake up at 5:30 am?
I've been dealing with some grumpiness lately.
So, that's fun.

4. | girls night
With all of the above said, I felt like I deserved a little girls night.
My friend Shannon and I hit the town the other night.
We ate french fries and ice cream.
And then went to the smallest movie theater of all time.
Seriously. There were 6 cars in the parking lot.
Two of which probably belonged to the two people working there.
It was super.
We saw The Longest Ride, which I had been calling The Last Frontier…
because I really had no clue what I was seeing, I was just happy to go out with a friend.
Turns out, it was a good chick flick.
And Scott Eastwood? He is dreamy.
I told my farmer that he'd think he was dreamy too because he was a pretty stellar bull rider.
Girls nights need to happen more often.

  1. I really want to see The Longest Ride. Scott Eastwood is definitely dreamy...and he definitely gets it from his father ha. It was probably my favorite Nicholas Sparks book.

  2. Oh I just finished reading the Longest Ride Book, now I need a friend to go see it with! I would do MNO with you...that's if we lived closer. :) So cute how you and your farmer switch off with the kids.

  3. I want to see that movie!! I don't think it's something my husband would care to see though so I'll probably be seeing it with my BFF too! :)

  4. Haha okay, I am officially obsessed with your writing style for your blog. #3!?!?! haha priceless.
