{oh hey, friday | top 5 reasons to watch the super bowl}

I wish I had some more vacation highlights to share with you all...
however the only other memorable thing that happened on our vacation was food poisoning.
Otherwise known as the only times in life I've truly felt like I was dying.
So... there was that.

And now, just like that, it's Friday again.
I can't say that this is super exciting.
These weeks and days are passing by a liiiiiiitle too quickly.
This may be the busiest time of year for a farm wife like myself,
if not because of the farm budget alone.
In addition to nonstop budgeting I've got a big birthday bash I'm planning for Brody and my farmer, and then Valentine's Day a few days after.
And you can't forget the Super Bowl... it's basically a holiday too, right?
Which brings me to today's post...
top 5 reasons why I like the Super Bowl.

But first, some biz-nass.

If you'd like to join in on oh hey, friday, it's easy peasy.

Ok, here we go.
The top FIVE reasons to watch the Super Bowl.

1. | An excuse to sit on the couch all day.
Let's face it, my boys are high strung.
Sitting on the couch for more than 20 minutes in a day is a treat.
So getting an excuse to sit down for a few hours while shoving food in my face sounds like a dream.
I have a feeling that my little farmer's are going to have some other plans however.

2. | Food.
The glorious food.
I try to maintain a pretty healthy diet around our house.
We don't buy chips.
Or make desserts much.
So events like this call for some splurging.
Bring on the junk food.

3. | Commercials.
We all know that this is the only reason half of the people watch the Super Bowl.
I mean, that is why company's pay SO much money to get their ad to air, right?
They also put a lot more creativity into their advertising, which is much appreciated.
Let's be real, it is the only day of the year that I actually watch commercials.

4. | Half-time.
Since I was a kid, this has probably been my favorite part.
While all of the fella's get up and use the opportunity to stretch their legs and use the bathroom, I scoot closer to the TV and enjoy.
Sometimes I dance and sing along.
Sometimes I cringe and crack jokes at the failure.
Either way, it's a good time.

5. | The football.
I usually enjoy the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes.
I am not usually into all that in between time.
Unless of course it is for the commercials... as mentioned above.
Hopefully it is a close game.
That always makes those last few minutes WAY more entertaining.

And, that about covers it.
What are your plans for the Super Bowl?
Do you have any yearly SB traditions?

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

  3. My plans involve a lot of worrying my team will lose. LOL. (Yes, I'm a Patriots fan. Which has not been a whole lot of fun the past couple of weeks. ::sigh::)

  4. I'm like you--- all the other stuff is way more important to me than the actual superbowl!! hahah!! especially the food!!

  5. My plans are to eat, rest, watch the commercials, and spend time with my family.

  6. The food and commercials are my favorite part. I've already seen the Budweiser commercial with the horse and puppy and it makes me cry every time, they're just so cute! Have fun splurging on junk food, we'll be doing the same!

  7. it was all about food, commercials and Katy Perry! I thought she killed it, and I might have lost my mind when Missy came out!!
