{oh hey, friday | hollywood}

I know many of you are waiting for my Bachelor recap.
You can read THIS one from Wednesday.
The full details will be coming to the blog on Monday.
It's worth the wait.
Today however I will be telling you about the other adventures in Hollywood.

But first... some biz-nass.

If you'd like to join in on oh hey, friday, it's easy peasy.

1. | Write up a little post about five things. Anythings.

 2. | Head back over here and enter your link at the bottom of this post.

 3. | Pretty please don't forget to link back to our blogs and/or add the oh hey, friday! button {found above} by copying the HTML into the HTML section of your post so that others can link up as well.  That's it!

Ok. Now, onto my favorite things about Hollywood!

1. | Hotel
We stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, which is in the heart of Hollywood.
As you can see... it wasn't terrible.
There was certainly no free breakfast.
You didn't even want to think about opening the snack bar.
And we barely even wanted to touch the robe that they were charging $130 for if you took it home.
But really, it was wonderful.
Except for that one elevator that reeked of vomit Monday morning.
That was not so great.

2. | The sights.
The first morning we were there, I woke up to find this right out of our window.
And after looking around a bit more we saw a Jimmy Kimmel sign on what looked like an outdoor stage.
Turns out Jimmy Kimmel's show is taped about 100 yards from our room.
These views are a little different than the ones I have out my windows at home.

3. | The stars.
So, SO, many stars.
Right out the hotel door.
Our first night there we proceeded to walk up and down the street pointing out all of the familiar names.
Not only were we the ONLY people doing this, but we also somehow missed everything else in our surroundings.

4. | The stores.
Sleeping in for us was about 7 o'clock.
{Remember that CA is an hour behind ID}
Hollywood doesn't wake up until 10.
This limited any and all shopping to be done... except at crap-ery stores where you can buy any and all Hollywood memorabilia.
Want your name on a miniature CA license plate?
A fake oscar with a fake award taped onto it?
Hollywood pens, magnets, mugs, frames, etc?
So much junk.

5. | The Blvd.
 Really... it is quite iconic.

Bob Hope Square, Capitol Records TowerChinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre and five more theaters that I don't know of their importance, the Hollywood Sign, the Walk of Fame, Madame Tussauds, Ripley's Believe It Or Not!

We mostly just took advantage of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf though.
Still, iconic.

I don't know that this would have been one of my "must take" vacations.
Thank goodness for those Bachelor tickets!
Another super fun trip and location in the books.

  1. Sounds like you had kind of a good time! I've always wanted to go out to LA/Hollywood for vacation, but not sure husband and I would get much out of it. We like to do a little more exploring and a little less spending money :) I think you've helped talk me out of it for the time being!! -Dorrie @ Bear Den Plantation

  5. Wait, so did you tell us how you got the tickets? I don't think I remembering reading that. Yes Hollywood would definitely not be my go-to destination for a vacation...but it's fun walking around, mostly people watching...p.s. I avoid hollywood like the plague, but I did meet my husband there, so I guess it's not all that bad right? and watching the Bachelor, so fun!
