{q&a with a super funny wedding coordinator | 2 cats & chloe}

I have the raddest chick ever for you guys to meet today.
And I'm not even exaggerating.
Please, oh please, read this fun q&a with Susan from 2 cats & Chloe.

Firstly - let's start out with your lovely blog. What inspired you to begin your blog, and has that changed since you started?
Doogie Howser.
No seriously - I swore he was the coolest kid on tv when I was in the first grade!  {Yes, I was a complete nerd.}  Doogie would wrap up his day blogging, before blogging was even a thing.  Apparently, it stuck with me.  In high school I started blogging as a way to document my travels and adventures.  My blog has definitely changed names, addresses, and missions a few times since, but has always been a fun way for me to capture and record my life.

Your blogs name is "2 cats & chloe", how did you decide on that?

First of all, I should introduce myself as Susan.  No, I am not Chloe.  Chloe is my blonde border collie!  When I started this blog I was a single girl, living with two cats and Chloe.  I liked the alliteration {nerd alert} so I went with it!  Since then, one of the felines has moved on.  Wait, that sounds bad... she didn't die!  She just decided to move out.  Who knew cats could make such a decision?!  I have gone back and forth about changing the blog name but "1 cat & chloe" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

If you suddenly had five hours to yourself to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?

Five hours without a to-do list, chores, or work?  Wow.  That is unheard of!  If such a heavenly afternoon existed, I would probably spend part of it sitting on the dock and drinking some wine.  Then I would spend the second half, guiltlessly watching a Law and Order: SVU Marathon.

I wish I were you. Wedding & party coordinator! SO fun. Any crazy stories from your profession? Please tell me you've had some bridezillas.

 Bridezillas are bad... but Momzillas are the worst!  And of course I have had my fair share of crazy mishaps.  My job is to control all blunders so you never know they are happening... I've had several wedding cakes melt.  I've had a bride get stuck in a limo, on her way to the ceremony, only to have the tunnel shut down for 2 hours.  I've had missing groomsmen and lanterns catch on fire.  I had one bridezilla so bad that I had to commandeer a wedding cake just to calm her down.  You name it, I've probably seen it.  But for the most part, my clients don't see these mishaps... and that's what really matters.

On that same note… what has been your favorite event to date?

This is such a predictable answer, but I would have to say my own wedding.  After 6 years of coordinating weddings for other girls, last year I finally got to throw my own shindig!  I am completely biased but it was absolutely the best party ever.  It was classic and glam, with a touch of fun and a lot of glitter.  {Take a peek for yourself here.}

Looks like you nabbed a mighty fine man. Tell me more about your journey.

Nothing screams awesome love story like "we met online." Actually though, we emailed back and forth for a couple weeks while I was visiting family in Switzerland.  He was to be deployed the day after I got back from Europe.  We met for about an hour before he left for 5 months.  Our casual emails continued while he was away and when he got back, we went out on a real first date.  Flash forward four years later and we are now planning a trip to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary! Oh, and you totally need to know how he proposed.  Anyone who can out-plan a professional event planner deserves a few gold stars!  Read about how he tricked me to go to my favorite wedding venue in all of Virginia, then proposed on the private roof top... We actually ended up getting married at the same place we got engaged!

Do you have any current passions or hobbies that you are obsessing over and need to share with us?

YES!  After spending all of 2013 partying {engagement, engagement party, a couple bridal showers, birthdays, bachelorette party, my wedding, an all-inclusive honeymoon, thanksgiving and christmas...} I decided I needed to get healthy and change my life.  I began doing research and studying up on clean eating.  In January I did my first Whole30 {no grains, no dairy, no sugar, no legumes, and no booze} - and have since coached over 100 people through two separate Whole30s!  Clean eating and cooking have become such a passion for me.  I have lost weight, I feel better, I don't get migraines anymore and my skin is extremely clear! I am no expert, but I love that I have become a resource for people when they have questions about how to change their eating habits.  You will now see awesome, clean, paleo recipes popping up on my blog weekly!

Lastly, where do you see yourself in five years?

 Still married.  Still blogging.  Simply enjoying life while coordinating weddings and dabbling in marketing.  Hopefully with a couple of kids, living on some acreage in the country.  Next spring we will be breaking ground and will start building our dream home in Suffolk, VA!  My college roommate will be my neighbor and we will probably share a lawn mower and a few chickens.  {Seriously, who builds their forever-home next door to their college roommate!  How crazy is that?!}  I can't wait!

Thank you so much for letting me ramble here today!  I can't wait to meet some new readers! OH!  And I forgot to mention!  Because Amy is awesome and because I am completely working to rebrand my blog - for the next week I am offering 40% off any of my ad spaces to readers of The Farmer's Wife!  Use the promo code: FARMERSWIFE
