{the man behind the blog | meet my farmer}

It's no secret that I'm head over heels for my handsome hubby.
And I was very pleased when he agreed to do this "man behind the blog" post.
Now all of you can fall head over heels for him too...

Name: Ryan
Occupation: Farmer

Many gals are curious to know how to find themselves a farmer. Can you help?
R: farmersonly.com. I saw it on tv. And it worked for my neighbor. For real.
{A: He's not lying. I guess it's worth a shot?}

Why are you so awesome?
R: I s#*$ it every morning, I can’t help it.
{A: So modest.}

What are your biggest pet peeves?
R: No return envelopes in a +$5,000 bill.
And employees not working when I show up. When I ask why they aren’t working, they look at me like I’m stupid. That makes me mad.
{A: Noted.}

What is one of your closet staples?
R: I don’t know what that is.
{A: explained to him}
R: Jeans.

Do you have a fashion pet peeve?
R: I don’t like to wear blue shirts with blue jeans – I don’t know why I just can’t do it.
I’d like to try skinny jeans, but trends don’t go along with the farm life… if I walked into a farm store with skinny jeans I would get a lot of crap. The only people who can wear 'skinny jeans' around here are cowboys in their wranglers.
{A: That's news to me. I'll be purchasing him a pair right away.}

If you were to start a blog what would it’s name be?
R:Bushels and Bitches

And what might this blog be about?
R: farming and dogs {laughs}
{A: you’d be surprised at just how fast he came up with this… I sure was}

If you could hang out with anyone {dead or alive} who would you choose?
R: My wife because there is just not enough time in the day. {smirk}
{A: That’s sweet, and probably a lie.}

What is the best part of people watching?
R: Putting stories to their lives and mimicking what they might be saying.

What is your biggest fear?
R: Failure.

Favorite food?
R: Honey Greek Yogurt.

Fav drink?
R: Mountain Dew. It’s my crutch, I always go back…. and coffee in the morning.

If you could have a week off in the middle of the summer what would you do?
R: Ride my dirt bike to Alaska while Amy takes the motor home and the boys so we could hang out every night.

What are your thoughts about Pinterest?
R: It's just a lot of ideas. People put pictures on their page that they think are cute.
{A: Pretty accurate, surprisingly.}

What is an acceptable amount of money to spend on a pair of shoes?
R: Whatever Amy wants.
{A: Good answer.}

What is your favorite memory of your relationship with Amy?
R: So many. First one that comes to mind is when she froze her hand off hauling a xmas tree home from the hills when we just started dating. We only had a short rope and couldn’t tie it on the roof of my blazer, so each of us had to have our hand out the window holding one end of the rope. Hardcore.
{A: I had to prove my resilience. Being a farm wife isn't for the weak.}

What is your favorite trait of Amy’s?
R: Her witty sense of humor.

When my wife told me she was starting a blog, my first thought was:
R: Cool. I thought it was kind of weird to share your life with everyone. Who cares what we do?

The most challenging part about being married to a blogger is:
R: having patience to take a million pictures.
{A: He'll be thanking me in the future.}

Worst part about being married to a blogger:
R: Answering this question. Her blogging really doesn’t bother me.

What does your gal typically write about?
R: Our boys.

When my lady is busy blogging I like to:
R: Work. Unless I’m at home and then I want to watch Deadliest Catch. Or Ax Men. Or secretly, Chris the Bachelor – go farmer.

First thought when you hear “we have to take blog pics today”?
R: Crap. I don’t like to take pictures. I don’t have the patience for it.
{A: Too bad for him, he does a pretty decent job. He's not fired yet.}

What has surprised you most about Amy as a blogger?
R: How much interest people actually have in what we do.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
R: I love tap dance.
Kidding.
Uh... when I was in high school we had to watch a farm accident video.
I don't do well with that stuff, and I passed out and peed myself.
{A: Embarrassing. And true.}

Well, what do you guys think of my farmer?
Any follow up questions for him?
I'm sure he's going to eat up any comments.
He's kind of an attention whore.

Have you done a "man behind the blog" post?
I highly encourage it.
And I would LOVE to read it!!
